Most YouTube drop-off happens in the first 60 seconds — and again at the formal outro. This recipe builds a script structure that front-loads the value signal, maintains tension through the middle, and exits without the “if you liked this video” outro that tells viewers the video is over.

The open loop technique
The hook opens a question the viewer needs answered to leave. The worst hooks state everything upfront. The best hooks reveal just enough to make leaving feel like losing:

The viewer needs to know what you discovered. They stay.
Pacing spikes
