The PAS framework (Problem → Agitation → Solution) is the backbone of almost every high-converting sales page. This recipe builds the whole structure in one pass — each section has a specific psychological job.

The Recipe

Act as a senior conversion rate optimization (CRO) copywriter. Write a high-converting sales page framework for [Product/Service], which targets [Specific Audience Persona].

Structure the output with clear headings for the following sections:

1. Above-the-Fold: A compelling H1 (hook the main desire/pain point) and a clear subheadline explaining the mechanism. Include a placeholder for a primary CTA button.

2. The Agitation: Empathize with 3 specific, frustrating daily problems the target audience faces.

3. The Reveal (The Solution): Introduce [Product/Service] as the antidote. Break down its 3 core benefits (not features) using bold bullet points.

4. Social Proof Blueprint: Describe what kind of testimonial or case study should go here to handle the biggest objection (e.g., price or trust).

5. Risk Reversal & Final CTA: Write a strong guarantee statement and a final, urgent call to action.

What each section is doing psychologically

SectionJob
Above the foldCapture attention and signal “this is for me” in 3 seconds
AgitationMake the problem feel real and personal — not abstract
The revealShift from pain to relief; tie every benefit to an outcome
Social proof blueprintAddress the #1 objection before they voice it
Risk reversalRemove the fear of being wrong; make the CTA feel safe

Features vs. benefits — the key distinction

The recipe asks for benefits, not features. Here’s the difference:

  • Feature: “Real-time collaboration”

  • Benefit: “Your team ships without waiting on each other”

  • Feature: “AI-powered suggestions”

  • Benefit: “You stop staring at a blank page”

When filling in [Product/Service], describe it in terms of what changes in the customer’s life — not what the product technically does.

🔁 Leftover Remixes

🌶️ Spicy: After generating, ask: “What’s the most likely reason a visitor reads this page and still doesn’t convert? Rewrite the Risk Reversal section to address it.”

🧊 Mild: “Generate the Above-the-Fold section only — give me 3 H1 options and the best subheadline for each.”

💰 Budget: “What’s the single headline change most likely to improve conversion on this page? Explain the psychology.”
